Module 2 of TIC Curriculum
We are excited to announce the completion of Module 2 of the Trauma-Informed Care Curriculum!
The module, Understanding the Impact of Trauma & Enhancing Caregiver Resiliency, is available for download on the Bridge Program's TIC Training & Coaching Curriculum page.
As mentioned in prior e-newsletters, the Trauma-Informed Care Training & Coaching Curriculum Module One as well as Historical & Intergenerational Trauma is available for download on the Bridge program webpage.
The member pages of the site require R&R members to login in using the following credentials:
Login: Member
Password: rrnetwork1980
Once you've logged in, you can access the curriculum by navigating to Trauma Informed Care Training & Coaching Resources, to TIC Trainer Certification, you'll see the curriculum listed in a table on the left-hand side of the page. We suggest bookmarking the page for easy reference.
Spanish translations of the material are currently in progress andmembers will be notified via email once those materials become available.
If there are additional Navigators or Trainers that would like to be a part of the various Bridge-related calls, webinars, or further information, please complete our Interest Form.

Bridge Program TA Call
Tuesday, April 30th 2019
The Child Care Programs Bureau (CCPB) hosts a Bridge Program technical assistance call on the last Tuesday of each month from 1-2 pm to provide an opportunity to share best practices and challenges in implementing the Bridge Program. Please send specific questions or suggestions for discussion topics to childcarebridge@dss.ca.gov.

California Gets Boost From Federal Government to Expand Early Learning
California was one of 45 states to receive a Preschool Development Birth through Five Grant this year for improving access to child care and early learning for infants and children. California received $10.6 million.
The grant will not create any new child care slots, but will help in planning efforts to expand child care and early learning services. Gov. Gavin Newsom has proposed a major expansion of the system of early education for children 0-5 years old, including providing state-subsidized preschool to all low-income 4-year-olds and expanding a program that sends nurses and social workers to infant's home to help new parents.

Repetitive rhythmic activity "elicits a sensation of safety," Perry writes. "Rhythm is regulating. All cultures have some form of patterned, repetitive rhythmic activity as part of their healing and mourning rituals - dancing, drumming, and swaying."
