Harvard University’s Center on the Developing Child has posted three wonderful short (3-minute) videos on resilience. The Science of Resilience describes how protective experiences and adaptive skills on one side counterbalance significant adversity on the other. What Is Resilience? describes protective factors that enable people to adapt in the face of adversity, and how they’re essential to make sure that children with ACEs can still become healthy and productive. How Resilience is Built explains that children are not born with resilience. Instead, resilience is produced through the interaction of biological systems and protective factors in the social environment, mostly through relationships with caring adults.
