During February the Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) and the Child Welfare Policy and Program Development Bureau (CWPPDB), worked together to host a two-day FFPSA Summit. Stakeholders from across the State were invited to learn more about FFPSA and engage in conversations pertaining to candidacy, evidence-based practices, evaluation methodologies and fiscal considerations.
The summit featured keynote speakers: Robin Jenkins PhD., Khush Cooper PhD., Clare Anderson MSW., Daniel Webster PhD., Dan Edwards PhD, and Mark Courtney PhD. The discussions involving FFPSA touched upon both the limitations of the legislation, but also the potential for broadening prevention services and support to vulnerable populations.
The event was attended by over four hundred people on the first day, and on the second day more than two hundred people were in attendance. The information gleaned from the two-day event will inform the draft of the FFPSA Five-Prevention State Plan. Click on FFPSA DAY 1 or FFPSA DAY 2 to watch and listen to the events of the summit.
