WHAT’S HAPPENING:
RESILIENCE WEEK is a first-of-its-kind North Carolina engagement campaign, starting the week November 18th, 2019.
KEY DATES & TIMES:
RESILIENCE will be broadcast on November 19th, 8 pm EDT on UNC-TV,
followed by a Statewide Twitter Townhall®, 9 pm - 10 pm EDT,
where the public can tweet their comments and questions using #ResilienceWeek
to receive real-time answers from a panel of trauma-informed experts.
This multi-platform campaign is supported by organizational and institutional
partners across the state and is designed to achieve the following impact goals.
Build the awareness of ACEs.
Increase knowledge of trauma informed education.
Share resources for building greater resilience.
Amplify support for ongoing action and advocacy
in areas of childhood trauma and toxic stress.
As part of RESILIENCE WEEK North Carolina, UNC-TV will offer an exclusive public television broadcast of the award-winning film RESILIENCE: THE BIOLOGY OF STRESS & THE SCIENCE OF HOPE. This documentary chronicles the impact of toxic stress on children’s well-being and explores strategies used by educators, therapists, pediatricians, and communities to disrupt cycles of violence and trauma.
