On October 1st, 2015, the 2nd Annual Building Resilient Communities Through Trauma-Informed Congregations meeting is being held in Washington, DC.
The goal is to create the tools and momentum to build resilient communities through trauma informed congregations across the US. The focus is on:
- increasing access to quality health care,
- reducing violence (suicide, domestic violence, human trafficking, child maltreatment, racism, etc.)
- reducing untreated mental illness,
- reducing addiction in our communities, and
- increasing community resilience
If you are experienced in the field of trauma-informed communities, could you provide the organizers with any resources or tools on trauma-informed practices or approaches that could be helpful for attendees? Please submit your recommendations to Amelia Kermis at amelia.kermis@fsis.usda.gov by 12 noon Monday, September 28th, 2015.
