Getting FBOs involved in the ACEs Conversation/Movement
Hello everyone. I'm from Arkansas and the work with ACEs is just getting off the ground here. We have a workgroup with about 100 organizations involved and they are sharing the data about ACEs nationally and in AR--The last ACEs study showed Arkansas has the highest frequency of people experiencing multiple ACEs. I've seen how FBOs have taken responsibility and a leadership roles in other states and believe that can happen here too. We are a highly religious state and medical collages have...

Re: Silent No More
The subject of abuse and the effects of adverse childhood experiences are ignored in nearly all seminaries and Bible colleges. Churches are not equipped to understand or minister to people exposed to abuse or family dysfunction. Eight years ago I became aware of The ACE Study. It changed my ministry. Two years ago I started ACE Overcomers, a Bible-based program to help teens and adults overcome the effects of abuse, neglect and dysfunction. I speak in churches to inform both staff and...

Re: Examples of churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, and other faith communities practicing child trauma prevention and intervention?
Hi Laura, I am a member of ACE Connections. I saw your post on making presentations to Faith Based communities. I am wondering how it is going, if you researched presentations or curriculum? Anything you can share would be helpful to me in my passion to inform churches about ACEs. My Best, Roxy Foster

Re: Trauma Informed Congregations - A Strategy Document
HI Dianne, Thanks for the note... and I'm glad that you found the document helpful. The more we can inform people of faith about ACEs, the better equipped we can become to minister to those affected. ~ Dale

RE James Sisson post: Hello James, I would like to learn more of what you are doing and maybe help you spread the word about what you are learning. I'm a retired doctor who now has a ministry called Serenity and Health. It is so clear that ACEs contribute to much suffering, and I believe faith communities can be a source of great healing. But, I think we all need to know more. Maybe I can write about your work or interview you. Please be in touch at dc@serenityandhealth.com . My website is...

Re: Looking for Faith-Based Presenters
1988 U.S. Congressional Resolution #331 acknowledges the role of the Iroquois constitution in the development of our U.S. Constitution. The Iroquois constitution reportedly called for 'Generational Review'- I question whether they 'knew' about 'Trans-Generational Trauma' or conceptualized it differently. They reportedly availed Women the Rights to: Assert, Debate, VOTE, and Declare War beginning between 1095 and 1150 A.D. ..... They certainly used 'Villages' to raise children. I've yet to...
