Please mark your calendars for the 3rd annual in‐person meeting of the Building Resilient Communities thru Trauma Informed Congregations (TiCiong) October 18th, 2016 at the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) ‐200 Independence Ave. SW in Washington, DC. More to come on this.
For those interested in participating in the planning of our meeting, and building our strategy for the year, please send your letter of interest to join a round‐table strategic planning meeting on Building Resilient Communities thru Trauma Informed Congregations at Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 200 Independence Ave. SW in
Washington, DC.
During this meeting we will explore how we can partner to improve access to services, utilization of preventative services and help people get the health insurance they need. We will explore ways to reform our delivery system to make to reduce health‐care cost, improve access to quality care, address the co‐ occurring epidemics of suicide, violence, untreated mental illness, and addiction, while building resiliency.
For those interested in helping to plan, we invite you to identify points of partnership between your efforts and the goals of HHS.
We will have a full day to explore ways we can build a better integrated in the health system and:
• Engaging in open enrollment and coverage to care efforts
• Strategies and best practices for partnerships
• Group and community treatments for trauma, pain, stress, depression, anxiety, and overall wellness
• Community resilience building as preventive care
