Addressing trauma requires a multi-pronged, multi-agency public health approach inclusive of public education and awareness, prevention and early identification, and effective trauma-specific assessment and treatment. In order to maximize the impact of these efforts, this approach needs to be provided in an organizational or community context that is trauma-informed, that is, based on the knowledge and understanding of trauma and its far-reaching implications.  The FLRN learning community model has been designed to connect organizations, schools, and community service agencies committed to trauma-informed care and practices.  FLRN members gain an increased understanding of trauma-informed care and practices, realizing potential paths for recovery. This includes recognizing the signs and symptoms of trauma in individuals, families, staff, and others involved with your organization/school and may include other community systems.  The learning community has been designed to position organizations to implement new or updated trauma-informed practices long after the first year by providing, education, consultation, sharing and learning opportunities throughout the year and beyond.  We look forward to adding your agency to this growing network of committed TIC partners!
