Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has numerous health benefits to include weight management and weight loss, diabetes management, decrease in buildup of dandruff and skin disease, decrease in depression and bacteria infection, and aids in lowering blood pressure (HTN) (Gunnars, 2024 & Arizona PBS, 2024). Apple cider vinegar is made of several ingredients, one of the most important ingredients aiding in health transformation is “the mother.” It contains specific proteins that are formulated into healthy bacteria called Mycoderma aceti (The Bath Alchemist, 2024). This is a healthy bacteria that is created from yeast and takes on a cloudy appearance with an acidic aroma. The chemical makeup of the solution makes a healthy and appetizing drink with several health benefits.

Some of the health benefits of ACV include the solution’s strong aroma; However, it is made up of health enzymes for essential health and healing. The solution contains healthy bacteria that promotes the elimination of  bacteria such as fungal infections and skin, hair, and scalp disorders (Gunnars, 2024). ACV has been a solution used for many years for those specific reasons, as well as wound care and treatment (Gunnars, 2024). The solution is also used to decrease glucose levels for patients who are diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Two studies in 2019 and 2021 discovered the healthy uses of ACV to improve Type 2 diabetes (Gheflati, Bashiri, Ghadiri-Anari, Reza, Kord, & Nadjarzadeh, 2019). Another study in 2021 discovered the benefits of ACV to improve the impact of food consumption on blood glucose levels (Hadi, Pourmasoumi, Najafgholizadeh, Clark & Esmaillzadeh, 2021). The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (2023), suggests that patients who have the above symptoms exacerbate to contact medical professionals for further care.
