Join us for the 7th annual National Community Leadership Summit, themed Our Future, Our Communities, hosted by Boston Medical Center’s Vital Village Networks! This VIRTUAL summit brings together trail blazers from around the country who are dedicated to helping children and families get equitable access to the resources they need to thrive. This has become especially important given the inequities highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s event, “Our Future, Our Communities” will lift up the grassroots leaders who work daily to address racial and social inequality in our communities, brought into stark relief recently by the dual pandemics of COVID-19 and the killing of George Floyd and other Black Americans.
Summit participants will connect with community experts in health, early childhood education, child welfare, juvenile justice, education, policy, research and philanthropy, and hear from inspirational advocates like Vital Village founding director Dr. Renee Boynton Jarrett, as well as many other leaders from the Boston area and beyond. Participants are also invited and encouraged to submit an abstract to be considered for the Summit's Virtual Poster Session, which gives attendees the opportunity to share their voice through stories on advocacy or research.
Vital Village Networks, a nonprofit organization founded in 2010 at Boston Medical Center, is building the capacity of communities to promote child wellbeing in Boston and nationally. This interactive, two-day virtual summit will offer opportunities for professional and personal development, peer learning, and networking for leaders from across the country who seek to strengthen collective efforts and advocacy for children and families.
The meeting will incorporate the principles of language justice, and sessions will take place in English and Spanish.
