Trauma-Focused Treatment Program Bilingual Therapist Job Description
General Description
The Bilingual (fluent in both Spanish and English) CAC TFT Program Therapist is responsible for providing trauma-informed therapy services for children who have experienced abuse and for their non-offending family members. These services include: trauma based crisis intervention, assessments and psychotherapy in both English and Spanish. In addition, the therapist will provide comprehensive case management services, conduct intake appointments and coordinate efforts within a team based approach.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or other related field. Licensure as an LCSW or LPC is required. Experience working with children of all ages and developmental levels who have experienced trauma (specifically sexual and severe physical abuse) is required. Bilingual (fluent in both English and Spanish) is required. Understanding of trauma informed care, multiculturalism, family systems and knowledge of community resources are preferred.

Major Responsibilities
- Conduct initial intake sessions utilizing trauma assessment measures to identify symptoms related to trauma, healthy and unhealthy coping skills, challenges that may require outside referrals, caregiver protective factors and determine preliminary DSM 5 diagnoses.
- Conduct assessment sessions to further identify strengths and challenges related to traumatic experience(s) and develop an individualized treatment plan.
- Provide outpatient psychotherapy using a variety of evidence informed treatment modalities (e.g., Trauma Focused – Integrated Play Therapy, Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for children and non-offending family members to attain stated treatment goals and objectives.
- Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention to assist children who have experienced trauma and their non-offending family members as needed for clients on active caseload.
- Co-facilitate group for non-offending caregivers utilizing Trauma Informed Care curriculum.
- Provide case management services including: maintenance of clinical records, ongoing contact with caregivers and other professionals, provide court testimony when requested and provide referrals to community resources as needed.
- Participate in team based approach with CAC staff members and Multi-disciplinary Team partners.
- Provide ongoing research, development and implementation of therapeutic interventions for children who have experienced trauma and their family members.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
