Building Bridges from Crisis to Wellness
Guilford County Celebrates 14 Years of Partnership Through Organizational Signing Ceremony and Memorandum of Agreement
The Kellin Foundation hosted a virtual event on January 18, 2022 to celebrate the organizations that signed the Memorandum of Agreement in partnership with the Greensboro Child Response Initiative and Guilford Trauma Provider Network. A large group of 50 people including local council members, Chief of Greensboro Police Department, leaders of organizations and community members came together over Zoom to celebrate the collaborative effort and commitment of local organizations to support the Child Response Initiative.
A common thread throughout the event was leaders expressing gratitude to leaders at the Kellin Foundation and partnering organizations for their commitment and continued efforts for the purpose and vision to support children and families are traumatic experiences and experiences of violence. The Kellin Foundation and the Trauma Provider Network help to build bridges from Crisis to Wellness and are working to create lasting systems change.
Police Chief Brian James spoke about how it’s imperative to have a partnership with organizations like the Kellin Foundation to support children and families after a crisis to help prevent long lasting impacts of trauma in children. The Child Response Initiative helps to get the intervention as soon as possible to decrease the impacts of trauma. Chief James expressed how important and appreciative he is about the collaborative effort and how the police department can’t simply provide everything and how impactful this collaborative effort can be for children and families for preventing future incidents as well.
