Humboldt Health Foundation, a supporting organization of Humboldt Area Foundation, is now accepting proposals to their annual Community Health Grant program. The average grant size is $6,000; the largest is $10,000. Grants support programs and projects that enhance the physical and mental well-being of communities in Humboldt County. HHF grants support organizations working to improve health and grow wellness in communities experiencing social and economic disparities, where communities being served inform how programs are being offered and what could make them more effective. Examples of programs recently funded by the Foundation include: sexual and reproductive health education, a mobile fitness program for Native American families, rural family resource center, health and wellness programming and a queer dojo.
