Circles of Safety: Awareness to Action for Youth-Serving Professionals
Overview: In a virtual classroom setting, attendees will become better prepared to support children’s healthy and safe sexual development, identify and respond to warning signs in children and adult’s behaviors in their programs, and design safety plans to address safe boundaries, privacy, consent and respect.
In an interactive online environment, participants will discuss barriers to taking protective actions, and build confidence and knowledge to actively promote protective factors. Use of small group discussions and activities, brief homework assignments, and role plays will support attendees' learning journey that includes preparing to lead conversations both about children's safety and in discussing specific concerning behaviors and vulnerable situations for children.

Monday, 5/8/2023 through Thursday, 5/11/2023; 1:00pm - 4:00pm ET. (4 consecutive days)
Cost: $285 ($295 with CE credits)
Recommended Audience: Professional caregivers, (i.e. foster parents, youth residential staff, youth program support staff, sexual assault and response professionals, child protective service professionals, child and family advocacy professionals, educational professionals) youth-serving organization employees in any role, and anyone interested in preventing child sexual abuse.

Circles of Safety: Training of Trainers
Overview: Train the trainer offers community and youth-serving organizations the training and tools they need to train their own staff and the caregivers they support, including parents, foster parents, and residential staff. Over the course of the training, attendees will prepare to facilitate two separate workshops within their organization (in person and electronically): Understanding the Role of Healthy Sexuality Development and Education in Sexual Abuse Prevention and Understanding and Responding to Warning Signs.
Participants will receive a trainer’s manual and presentation materials, and will be eligible for a 3 year certification as a Circles of Safety Community Presenter.
Note: Awareness to Action is a prerequisite to this course.

Monday, 5/16/2023 through Thursday, 5/18/2023; 1:00pm - 4:00pm ET. (4 consecutive days)
