COURSE DESCRIPTION
Please join us for a 2-part webinar that will explore the complex interplay of childhood adversity, systemic trauma and acute stress in the perinatal period.
Presenters will discuss how maternal trauma and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders intersect and impact the parent-child relationship, contributing to the intergenerational transmission of ACEs. We will share methods for incorporating ACE screening into a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan focused on promoting resilience for both mother and child.
IN THIS TRAINING ACTIVITY YOU WILL...
- Recognize the impact of ACEs, toxic stress and systemic trauma in the perinatal period and on the parent-child relationship.
- Understand the methods for screening and assessing ACEs and maternal mental health disorders in the clinical setting.
- Identify evidence based treatment modalities that address the effects of trauma and maternal mental health disorders.
- Address the impact of intergenerational trauma.

Allison Murphy, MFT is the founder, CEO and a clinician with Mothers Care, an innovative evidence-based perinatal mood and anxiety disorder screening and treatment program.
Jennifer Sliverstein, LCSW is a California endorsed Infant Family Mental Health Specialist. She has over 19 years of experience in fostering early childhood mental health and supporting families during the transition into parenthood
