Hello,
I wanted to reach out to inform you of things happening at Healthy Mendocino. We have been busy having meetings to discuss our vision for Healthy Mendocino and how we may want to restructure the way we work in the community and with the Action Teams. We are looking into a Collective Impact model with one main priority area at the center of our focus. We would bring in the idea of equity and “Health in all Policies” as we work with the Action Teams in all regions of the county. This is still a work in progress and we will keep you informed as we make decisions. We have organized a facilitated Strategic Planning retreat for the Steering Committee and staff at the end of February. We will be developing a clear and concise Work Plan from the Strategic Plan that will give us specific goals and priorities for the next year, 3 years and 5 years. This will help us with the work we do to support the Action Teams and the CHIP process.
As some of you may know, we are busy with the next Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). This is done every 3 years in collaboration with the county, hospitals and other agencies in the county. Part of this process is the Community Health Survey which we hope you will fill out online. I have attached an email blurb in English and Spanish with links for the survey. Please send this in an email to any email lists you have, work place staff, friends, family etc. We appreciate your help getting this widely disbursed.
The North Coast Childhood Trauma and Mental Health Action Teams have been awarded $5,000 in funding to put on a Community Resilience Leadership Summit and Campaign. The first Summit will be held in April. See the attachment for more information.
On other news, Thais Mazur has resigned as the North Coast Action Team Coordinator. She has accepted a job as the Executive Director for the Action Network in Gualala. I am disappointed to see her go, but this new job is a good fit for her. She will remain on the North Coast Housing, Childhood Trauma and Mental Health teams as a community member.
For the North Coast teams, we want to assure you that we will continue our support of your teams and are in the process of hiring another Coordinator for your area. If you know of anyone who would be a good fit for this job please send them the Job Description. Click on this Job Description to read more about the position or see the attached document.

I know that the teams are strong on the coast with good leadership and community involvement. But please let us know if you need any support from us or have any questions as we get through this transition. Julie and/or I can come to your meetings if needed and we plan on coming out to meetings after we hire the new staff member.
Thank you to all of the Action Team members for your commitment to helping your communities.
