Only 15 SPOTS remain for our training, From Trauma to Resilience: Fostering Hope Through Trauma-Informed Care! On September 27, participants will come together for our day long comprehensive training. This training is designed to assist participants in developing their unique skillset needed to support individuals who have experienced adverse childhood experiences and traumatic events.
Objectives:
- Increase awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and impact on well-being.
- Explain the physiological effect of trauma on the brain.
- Improve knowledge on ACEs, Trauma, and Trauma-Informed Care.
- Describe Trauma-Informed Care and its impact on your work.
- Generate actionable ideas for applying knowledge to your work with youth and adults.
- Enhance the community's ability to prevent and respond to trauma.
Jane Straub, victim assistance specialist at Jacob Wetterling Resource Center, a program of Gundersen National Child Protection Training Center, will be teaching it. Jane has been working in the violence prevention and intervention field for over 15 years. She has had the opportunity to work with adult victims of abuse, offenders and children of all ages. In addition to providing advocacy and support to victims and families, Jane has been able to educate the community on topics such as domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, trafficking, bullying/cyberbullying, reproductive coercion and the impact of trauma (ACE Study).
