Frozen River Film Festival

The impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences can increase negative outcomes for lifelong health and well-being. This film focuses on strategies developed by professionals working in pediatrics, education, and human services to mitigate these impacts by changing the way professionals and systems respond to children and adults who have experienced trauma. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the film followed by the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion about local efforts to bring trauma informed practice to systems in Minnesota.
Resilience is the follow up movie to Paper Tigers; a documentary about how trauma informed practice transformed an alternative high school in Walla Walla Washington. Watch the trailer here.
Check out the program for the festival here. Turn to page 26 to read about Resilience. Ruth Charles, an ACE Interface presenter trained by Minnesota Communities Caring for Children, will have a discussion after the film.
