Our TIHCER March Zoom meeting will feature Dr. Megan Gerber presenting "Is SoMe for me? Academic Use of Twitter"
Megan ("Meegan") Gerber is a general internist and Associate Professor of Medicine at the BU School of Medicine. She serves as Medical Director of Women's Health at VA Boston where she is also the fellowship director and as a Senior Consultant, Comprehensive Health, Women's Health Services, VHA (VA Central Office). Megan's academic focus has been on improving outcomes and care for trauma-exposed women. She is the editor of the recent Springer text "Trauma-informed Healthcare Approaches: A Guide for Primary Care" and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on IPV and women's health.
Objectives of Megan’s talk:
- Review basic DOs and DON’Ts of academic social media use
- Learn some strategies to increase exposure to your work
- Develop basic working knowledge of available analytics
- Consider potential of social media to engage or collaborate in research
Following Megan’s presentation, we plan to open the discussion up to how the pandemic is effecting us all and trauma informed care.
