Trauma Informed Health Care Education and Research Collaborative (TIHCER) presents:
Trauma and Resilience Inquiry in Family Planning Settings
Trauma affects family planning, and there is a higher incidence of trauma history in patients seeking STI and pregnancy testing, as well as abortion care. We adapted and applied the Trauma and Resilience-informed Inquiry for Adversity, Distress, and Strengths (TRIADS) framework to family planning settings through literature review and focus groups with family planning clinicians. We will be presenting our findings on how to discuss and respond to trauma when caring for patients in family planning settings.
