The New Hanover County Resiliency Task Force is excited to announce its newest training offering, “Foundations of Resilience.” Open to all New Hanover County community members and organizations, this two-part virtual training is for anyone looking to become more trauma-informed, healing-centered, and resiliency-focused.
Participants will be introduced to the concepts of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), toxic stress, trauma, and how they impact individuals and communities. Participants will also learn about skills for restoring and increasing their own resilience.
- Part 1: A screening of the film Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope followed by a facilitated discussion (90 Minutes)
- Part 2: Introduction to the Community Resiliency Model (90 Minutes)
Foundations of Resilience is offered on the 2nd Monday of each month at 1:00 pm.
Click here to REGISTER. If you have already completed one of the parts, you may register just for the portion you need.
We hope this regular offering is especially helpful to Resiliency Task Force Partners who have signed our Belief Statement and are working toward the action plan goal of all employees attending a film screening and training. Feel free to register staff for the sessions that best fit your staffing and scheduling needs.
