The New Jersey Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (NJAAP) believes that all children deserve to feel safe and secure in their home, at school, and while at play. The Healthy Spaces program aims to address adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) through partnerships with pediatric/family healthcare teams, schools and communities.

Overview: Presented by Steven Kairys, MD, MPH, FAAP, this Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (PCAN) webinar focuses on primary prevention by addressing four global triggers within the context of the Pediatric Medical Home (PMH): crying, toileting, discipline and Post-Partum Depression. CME and CNE credits are available to participants.
ACEs Screening in Pediatrics: Perspectives from the Field

Overview: Presented by Leena B. Singh, DrPH, MPH, and Karissa Luckett, RN, MSW, this webinar breaks down ACEs science and contextualizes the relationship between toxic stress and adverse health outcomes. Participants will gain an understanding of what pediatric health care providers can do to prevent and address ACEs with their patients on a micro-level, and will also learn from examples of early-adopters what can be done to support children and families facing adversity on a macro-level.
