This online community is a place where people living and working in and near North Carolina can come together to help prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), promote Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs), and find resources, tools, and more to help create safer, healthier communities.
Our work is to promote collaboration among community members seeking to prevent, protect against, and help families heal from the impact of ACEs, while at the same time creating and sharing ways to support greater healing and resilience within our communities.
Through this online community, we hope to learn from each other about PACE-related work in the state, broader PACEs-related topics, and build cross-sector awareness of existing statewide and community-level efforts.
We want to celebrate the work you are doing in your community!
We invite you to post blogs and "Ask the Community" posts on any topic that advances this mission. And we invite you to join the county or city initiative in your area. You can find the different initiatives in North Carolina in the listing below the map below to the right. (Point of pride, NC: we have more initiatives listed here or in the works than any state other than California, and that is where the movement began!)
Just click on the initiative you want to join and see what's going on there. Don't see a lot of activity? Reach out to the community manager for the community, or me, and we will see about reactivating your community. There is a lot of terrific work going on in the state, and if you want to be a part of it, we can connect you!
If you create a blog post about your community that you want me to share on the North Carolina site, please send me an email with "Clone Blog Post" in the subject line and I can share it on this page. The hope is that this page will be where we can collect and share success stories, address challenges, share data, connect you with other people in your community, update each other on funding opportunities, learn about the great work being done by the ACEs-Informed Courts Task Force, track laws and legislation so we can activate community members to ask for policy changes.
There is so much more we can do with this website, as you share your news, post your community's meetings, promote your events, track presentations made in your community (so we can someday share an aggregate of presentations), highlight North Carolina PACEs Science heroes, and more.
We need your help to make this an active, vibrant, go-to site for our members, funders, policymakers. Please invite your friends to join us. This is something you can do to help prevent and heal childhood trauma, build resilience. We hope you will join us!
