This is just a quick reminder to save the date for the upcoming Northern Region Learning Community on February 15 from 12:30 – 5:00. Hopefully you received the summary of the December meeting that was sent out prior to the holidays.
In the spirit of keeping the ball rolling on what we are learning about how various counties are working through collaboration to achieve positive change, the guest presenter on February 15 will be Zach Revene, Assistant Director of Public Health in Plumas County. He will provide an overview of their “20,000 Lives” initiative, for which they received an Innovation Award from CSAC (CA State Association of Counties). The award is given for initiatives that are considered replicable models of best practice.

His presentation will touch upon:
a. Aligning service delivery to foster cooperation, communication and coordination
among county departments and throughout the community
b. How alignment maximized assets to improve health and well-being without spending
more money
c. The development of a Community Health Improvement Plan—common vision,
community engagement, workgroups and how progress is measured—also will
discuss the potential to include resiliency as part of countywide goals
d. Their 20,000 Lives communication strategies to create common messaging across partners
We will also follow-up on the discussion we had at the December Learning Community regarding steps communities were going to take to promote resiliency and increase awareness of ACEs.
We will look at opportunities for sharing communication strategies and aligning our messages around resiliency.
We are still finalizing sites and logistics for the LC. At this point we have Ukiah, Eureka, Yreka, Quincy and Redding or Redbluff lined up. We will get out an official flyer next week, but please feel free to forward this Save the Date to get the word out so folks get it on their calendars.
