The Michigan ACE Initiative just released the July 2020 Impact Report. The Impact Report highlights Michigan ACE's accomplishments since its 2017 launch, including: educating over 20,000 Michigan residents about ACEs and ACE science; bringing over 500 people together for a statewide ACE Conference; producing two videos highlighting the work of Michigan communities to address ACEs and build resilience; training 134 Master Trainers and over 400 Michigan ACE Community Champions to educate Michiganders about ACEs; and passing two concurrent resolutions in the state legislature declaring ACEs to be a critical health issue.
The Impact Report also shares next steps for the work in Michigan, including a commitment to:
• Expand ACE awareness to accelerate research, educate the public and lawmakers, and ultimately reduce and prevent ACEs in Michigan
• Provide training and technical assistance across sectors and populations to raise awareness; identify, understand, and respond to ACEs; and build resilience in individuals, organizations, and communities
• Pursue ACE-aware, trauma-informed policies in the public and private sectors
