Our 3rd “Healing Orange County from Childhood Trauma” meeting was held on Wednesday July 20th, at Laguna Woods Village Community Center - Elm Room. Thank you Betsy S., for reserving our cool and comfortable meeting space. We had a total of 10 attendees; see attached Agenda and Meeting Notes. We were all warmly welcomed by Dana Brown, and we all had the opportunity to give a brief introduction of ourselves and share what we are grateful for.
We were most certainly all grateful to listen to Connie Hornyak’s presentation on Attachment Before and Immediately After Birth (see attached). Her presentation was insightful and educational by providing a profound understanding to the nature and nurture of childhood development when influenced by trauma.
Betsy, Marguerite and Mary shared their enthusiasm and overall great impression of the Resilience screening and discussion panel, held in San Diego on June 21st. The representation of Human Health Services, Parents, Educators (among others) was observed and appreciated by Betsy, Marguerite and Mary.
Our meeting concluded with great motivation and inspiration. We were all motivated by Todd Garrison’s brief introduction to “Elevating the well-being and future of Montana’s children”, and the paramount success those of the community of Montana have achieved. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday August 17th from 6pm-8pm, in Laguna Woods Village Community Center’s Elm Room. We are all looking forward to re-connect and are hopeful to welcome many more attendees.
Our Kindest Regards, Orange County ACEs Connection
