Orange County ACEs Task Force
Meeting Notes

● Mindfulness Moment - Everyone shared one thing they’re grateful for in their lives.
● Shared Understandings - Suggestion of adding them to the Agenda for each upcoming meeting.
● Welcome new visitors - Graciously appreciative of Marguerite inviting Tammy Descoteaux to our task force meeting, Tammy shared highlights of her experience and collaboration with the City of Mission Viejo and specifically, the City Manager Dennis Wilber. Reflecting on how the City of Mission Viejo is cutting edge in Orange County, Tammy shared their prescription drug campaign and their Community of Character campaign in 2003 through the Park & Recreation Department by hosting events on social issues. Their service learning projects reached the community through newsletters, posters, monthly movie nights and an essay contest on character words of the month.
● Education Committee Work Group - Kathy and Marguerite reflected on the potential engagement with the Inspirit Center for Spiritual Living and dialog ensued on possibilities of next steps and a launching point. The task force choose to invest time in developing a strategic action plan prior to moving forward with future film screenings and possibilities with the City of Mission Viejo.
● Draft OC Task Force Unified Sciences ACEs Joint Slides - Dana shared how to add a calendar event to our Orange County group by highlighting Marguerite’s Tapping event the following evening. We viewed a slide show of the unified sciences of ACEs and will be viewing additional slides in future meetings for our co-creation of Orange County’s.
● Interactive Collaboration (highlight area of interest) - This will be added to a future task force agenda.
● Dialog respectively on next steps on moving forward - Dana will upload onto our Orange County group examples of other communities’ strategic action plans for our co-creation of Orange County’s. - We choose to update our task force brochure for dissemination in recruiting new members on our team.
