Orange County ACEs Connection joins the PACEs Connection Cooperative of Communities

Orange County’s cross-sector community resilience initiative, Orange County ACEs Connection, has officially joined the PACEs Connection Cooperative of Communities.

The PACEs Connection Cooperative of Communities is a program of PACEs Connection that provides special tools and services for ACEs initiatives in towns, cities, and counties. It’s designed for initiatives that need efficient and sophisticated ways to measure their progress to becoming a trauma-informed community; that want diversity, equity and inclusion coaching; whose members need training in how to be a network leader…in other words, established initiatives that are ready to move to the next level.

The Orange County initiative describes itself as "A platform for community members, professionals and leaders to collaborate across sectors in a movement to prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), heal from trauma, and build resilience in Orange County". Started in early 2016 the Orange County ACEs Connection community has been continuously committed to building a resilient and trauma-informed OC community where all families can thrive. Read their initial introduction post to find out more about how they got started. Anyone interested in joining this community initiative can visit their site and click on ‘join’.

One aspect of the COOP that Orange County is particularly excited about is the Community Resilience Tracker that will allow them to measure their progress. One part is the Milestones Tracker, which the community’s organizations can use to track their progress in becoming a trauma-informed, healing-centered organization, within the larger goal of achieving a trauma-informed community.

“Orange County joining the COOP is a fundamental building block in developing a sustainable PACEs aware movement in Orange County and an opportunity to learn from others who are further along in the journey toward building a resilient community," says Dianna Daly, member of the steering committee. "Hopefully by sharing our work we can assist other communities in building their cross-sector resilience initiatives.”

Orange County is joining current COOP members Santa Barbara, Fresno, San Diego, Yolo, and Mendocino counties in California, and Richmond, Virginia, with more to come soon! Join us in welcoming Orange County to the PACEs Connection cooperative of communities!
