We had our 5th Orange County ACEs Task Force meeting on Wednesday September 21st. We have two new members; welcome to Floree McFadden and Tammy Ramsay. Dana Brown was very thoughtful to attend the meeting via speakerphone and could offer her insight when needed; thank you Dana! The meeting began with a five-minute mindful meditation exercise led by Marlene Sanders. It was nice to start our meeting with Focus and Relaxation.
Some of our group members had questions regarding where to locate the ACEs quiz and how to manage email settings. Marlene facilitated by showing the group how to easily navigate the ACEs Connection Network (ACN) website to find the ACEs quiz as well as the Resilience quiz. Marlene also pointed out that at the bottom of every email from ACN there is a link to “update notification settings” and another link to “suspend ALL email notifications.” It is merely a click of the link, and it will take you directly to the respective area.
We spent the remainder of the meeting collaborating on the logistics of the Paper Tigers Screening. We decided on the venue to utilize for invitations (Eventbrite), and created the invitations. Kathy Brous generously contributed her intellectual work to be used as the content of the invitation and the flyer. Marguerite volunteered to construct the flyer to be printed and distributed within the community, as well as electronically via email to various sectors. All members volunteered to either physically distribute printed flyer and/or electronically distribute flyer. Overall, it was a relaxed, focused, and productive meeting. Thank you to all the members for their dedication and time spent on “the movement to prevent ACEs, heal trauma, build resilience” (ACEs Connection Network).
Kind Regards,
Orange County ACEs Task Force
