         Meeting Minutes

         September 21, 2016

         6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Location: Laguna Woods Village

Attendees: Marguerite Bonnett, Mary Brogdon, Kathy Brous, Dana Brown (via speakerphone), Floree McFadden, Wayne Munchel, Tammy Ramsay, Marlene Sanders.  

• Welcome & Introductions

-  Mindful Moment: Focused and Relaxed Exercise

Marlene led the group with five minutes of mindful meditation and supported the

intention for the evening’s meeting.

         - “What would you like to learn about this evening?” (do search on ACN for topic area)

The group had questions about “Where to find the ACE quiz?” and “How to manage email settings.” Marlene facilitated in showing how to utilize the settings within the ACEs Connection Network, and from the actual email.         

• “Message Generation”

         - Dialog on Philadelphia ACEs Task Force strategy

Dana briefly explained what Message Generation is. We will visit Philadelphia ACEs group site at the next meeting.

• Review August 17th Meeting Notes

- We didn’t review.

• Community Engagement Work Group

         - Marguerite Bonnett: Vision for City of Mission Viejo to become a Trauma Informed city. Possibility of InSpirit Center for Spiritual Living hosting a screening in early 2017.   

• Education Committee Work Group

         -   Paper Tigers / RESILIENCE screenings update

    The group utilized the time to design the invitation for Paper Tigers through Eventbrite.

         -   Mary Brogdon at Center for Spiritual Living

         * Logistics: date/time

    Paper Tigers: Friday October 14, 2016 at 7:00 - 9:00 PM

Resilience: Friday November 18th, 2016 7:00- 9:00 PM

         * What sectors will be invited? (create list of invitees)

    We are inviting all sectors, beginning with local schools.

         * Invitation for leadership team as Facilitators of break-out groups

         -  Clarity on the Focus Questions within each break-out group

       -  (consideration) What is Community Trauma? What is Community Healing?

There will not be any break-out groups at the Paper Tigers screening. Break-out groups will be considered for future screenings.
