3. National trauma legislation has been introduced including RISE (Resilience Investment, Support & Expansion) from Trauma Act of 2019 (Durbin and Capito) and Massachusetts Congresswoman Katherine Clark's recently introduced Trauma-Informed Schools Act of 2019 which if enacted, would amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to provide a definition of trauma-informed practices and criteria for use of Federal funds to support trauma-informed practices in schools. The legislation is supported by over 50 endorsing organizations.
