Protective Factor Train the Trainer

Protective Factors are conditions or attributes (skills, strengths, resources, supports or coping strategies) in individuals, families, communities or the larger society that help people deal more effectively with stressful events and mitigate or eliminate risk in families and communities.
Prevent Child Abuse Florida’s Protective Factors 101
This course is an introduction to these factors done is such a way to make them easily understood, relatable and applicable to individuals. We will briefly discuss each factor and consider examples from our own experiences to illustrate the importance and relevance in our lives and in the lives of the children and families we serve.
For the purposes of creating capacity in training availability we offer a Train the Trainer in this course. In the Train the Trainer course participants learn to identify all the protective factors and develop a deeper understanding of what each factor means in the prevention of abuse and neglect. Participants will also present ONE factor and receive feedback from the trainer and the group to develop proficiency and ensure fidelity in delivering the training.
