The NC Mini-Conference #2: The Ripple Effect of Trauma was a powerful 2 hour training with over 125 folks participating from all over the State of North Carolina gathering together to learn about trauma-informed practices through a racial equity lens.
A number of presenters shared including information about how trauma impacts the biology of the nervous system sharing the example of how we respond if we see a snake and then when we perceive a snake, our bodies respond the same way due to our biology.
Stephanie Terry, spoke about the intergenerational impacts and implications of structural racism and its impact on BIPOC individuals and communities.
