From the event's website:
The Summit will mark the largest public discussion to-date of ACEs in the state and increase awareness of ACEs in the Midwest. The decision to host the event was informed by the Illinois ACE Response Collaborative’s participation in the 2nd Midwest Regional ACEs Summit in Milwaukee last year, which helped fostered valuable peer conversations on policy, programs, and practices as well as on community engagement strategies to further our Collaborative’s work.
Attendees will:
- Explore new research, data, and policy developments around ACEs in the Midwest
- Learn how the sciences around ACES—including the NEAR Sciences (Neuroscience, Epigenetics, ACEs and Resilience)—can help address community health equity and improvement
- Examine how ACEs research can impact emerging health reform initiatives including managed care and care coordination
- Discuss strategies for understanding and addressing the role of ACEs in the healthcare, mental health, criminal justice, education, and child-serving public systems
