The Healing10, a “Community of Communities” planned as a cross sector approach to bring a trauma informed paradigm to Camden, NJ. is pleased to announce the Spring Healing in Action Film Festival!
This film festival will feature powerful films about how adversity, trauma and toxic stress impacts individuals, professional caregivers and communities and what can be done to heal and foster resilience.
Immediately after the films, Healing10 members will facilitate a true conversation in breakout sessions to discuss how we can take the next steps here in Camden to truly heal our city.
Film 1: Paper Tigers
Produced by documentary filmmaker James Redford. Set amidst the rural community of Walla Walla, WA, the film intimately examines the inspiring promise of Trauma nformed Communities – a movement that is showing great promise in healing youth struggling with the dark legacy of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES).
Film 2: Portraits of Professional Caregivers
A documentary film produced by two Philadelphia based filmmakers, CAREGIVERS takes us on a journey into a world the public has not seen. The film depicts the dramatic emotional costs experienced by professional providers such as nurses, social workers, clinical psychologists, doctors, firefighters, and first responders who rescue, assist, and when possible heal the injured and traumatized.
