This introductory level course provides a description of trauma and its impact on individuals seeking behavioral health & other human services. The prevalence of these issues is discussed and the course reviews the developmental, physiological, experienced trauma can remain affected, and how they present in behavioral health settings.
- Discuss research that examined the health and social effects of adverse childhood experiences over the lifespan;
- Discuss the comprehensive impact of trauma on individuals when traumatized;
- Describe the developmental, cognitive, emotional and behavioral results of trauma that remain with individuals throughout their lives if trauma is not addressed.
This introductory level course, is designed for staff at all levels in behavioral health & other human agencies and though continuously updated contains some of the same material presented previously by Dr. Bloom in Cycles of Violence sessions from 1999 through February 2013.

Participants must attend entire presentation and complete a course evaluation in order to receive credits.
