Hi, Dan -- I'm interested in this as well, as we're working with other organizations to develop data dashboards for communities that measure the impact of practices based on ACEs, trauma-informed and resilience-building research.

Hi Caitlin! Thanks for sharing our provider directory! Since this is an ever changing document it might be useful to direct folks to our website ( dbhids.org/epic ). We have a "what & where" tab where you can find one page descriptions as well as regularly updated provider lists for all of our DBHIDS sponsored training initiatives. We're hoping to add lots of good resources to the site over the next year!

Hi Erica I am sending your question to some colleagues who have thought a lot about your question - but my gut sense is that the "How Brains are Built" video is a great place to start rather than the Nadine Burke Harris video, which is fantastic, but as you suspect may be a bit much for parents at first.

Hi, Alyson, I am looking to spread information that is relevant to all groups to other groups. I think this would be great for the Michigan page. We need to understand that there is a lot of sexual abuse of young girls and boys in all communities rural or urban and I would like to share with our group members how all forms of abuse eventually lead to very negative outcomes. Can I share this or would you on the Michigan group? Thanks Tina Thanks so much!!!

Re: Qualitative Study

Alyson Ferguson ·
Hi Jeff, First welcome to the Philadelphia ACEs Group! Here are two specific Philadelphia studies that may be helpful. The first one is The Philadelphia Urban ACE Survey which is a quantitative study that will help to describe Philadelphia ACEs stats and sets the stage for the Pediatrics article . Roy Wade et al from Children's Hospital held several focus groups with 105 Philadelphia youth about ACEs and urban stressors. I hope these are helpful. Alyson

Hi Alicia, When I get these emails and open them, there is only the message you see below, i.e., nothing to click on to take me to an article or bit of news. I'm not sure what to do with it. I asked our tech person and he said he didn't know either and that I should contact you. Thanks, Diane

Hi Daun, I would suggest contacting the Institute for Safe Families directly, because they are the one the research report was prepared for. The best email address I can find on their website appears to be: info@instituteforsafefamilies.org The Research and Evaluation Group at Public Health Management Corporation may have the data itself, but I'm not sure if they can release it without approval from Safe Families. They might be a good second choice to contact if you can't get through to...

Hi friends, I only two weeks ago found this social media site, and I'm thrilled about the what is going on here. I have laid out the framework of how the charity will operate. I'm looking for feedback, suggestions, questions, and people who are willing to help me in this endeavor! To find out more about the...

Title image: Jeny Bissell, Ho‘oikaika Partnership founder and Core Partner, gives a shaka at a Child Abuse Prevention Month mayor's proclamation and concert. A brochure from the Ho‘oikaika Partnership shows four people paddling a slender boat, their bodies silhouetted against an apricot-hued sky. The tagline: “When it comes to parenting, who’s in your canoe?” The image and the metaphor are intentional, says Karen Worthington, coordinator of the 60-member, cross-sector Ho‘oikaika Partnership...
