7 Habits of Highly Effective People

From Steven R. Covey’s release The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, brings essential factors that highlight success in both personal and professional life. He places into perspective the importance of seven steps to work effectively and perform responsibly in today’s era.

Be proactive: Focus specifically on what it is you wish to change and begin. (i.e. weight loss, relationship status, new employment, new skills, new location, silence, etc.)

Begin an end goal in mind:  Define a goal and ensure it is specific and measurable.

Prioritize what is most important: Determine tasks that are important, and assign specific goals to each.

Think Positively: Develop lasting relationships that are built on trust, and bring forth higher order thinking skills.

Understand others prior to being understood: Practice empathy, listen often, and allow others to develop their sense of self. Respect.

Collaborate: Create a solution that focuses on collaboration and teamwork. One that will focus on creativity and diversity.

Iron Sharpens Iron: Make time for refreshing and renewing of the mind, body, and spirit. Create a healthy balance, and make sure to check on your friends and family as often as possible.
