Dear Healers/Warriors,
Thank you to everyone who participated in today's meeting! I deeply apologize to everyone who wanted to attend, but was unable due to the scheduled time. I felt like it was really important to get the momentum rolling. We have so much to do! With that said, it is NOT TOO LATE to join the movement. We welcome you!
Meeting Agenda:
1. Substance Abuse Curriculum-
The group will be reading the 7 Module curriculum designed by the AZ ACES Consortium Executive Board in collaboration with the Program Director for a new Trauma-Informed Substance Abuse program to roll out across Arizona. Our purpose is to edit the document for cultural inclusion and gender fluidity. The document will become available shortly and we hope to have edits completed by middle of August.
2. Brainstorming About Reparations for Historical Trauma in Arizona.
We will be in continued discussions about what reparations would look like for groups like Native-American, Mexican-American and African-American who have suffered Historical Trauma in the state of Arizona.
3. Grant in Collaboration with Roundtable for Native-American Trauma-Informed Initiatives.
The group will lend expertise in formulating a grant that will serve 5 tribes in Arizona. The grant will support the healing of ACES through innovative practices that harmonize traditional healing and western medicine.
