Below is a message from Cat Parker, Program Coordinator, at Resources for Resilience about a special opportunity for our First Responders!:
Happy New Year!
I hope you had a restful holiday season. I am writing to share an opportunity with you for First Responders who live or work in the Eastpointe region (see list of included counties below). In partnership with Eastpointe, Edgecombe Community College, and the NC Department of Health and Human Services we are offering a specialized Reconnect for Resilience™ training for First Responders which includes more relevant examples of the situations First Responders are likely to encounter, as well as specific application of our Resiliency Tools for First Responders in the field.
We have worked to remove as many barriers as possible for First Responders with this project. We have grant funding that covers the training, so participants do not have to pay to attend. To help with scheduling we have shortened our training from 14-hours to 10-hours so that it only takes 1.5 days to complete. Sessions will be hosted virtually so participants do not have to travel for the training. However, they do need to register through Edgecombe Community College in order to receive credits for participation.
We have three trainings available (see attached flyer) and would greatly appreciate your help spreading the word to any First Responders in your community. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Thanks so much,
