Position Title: Regional Resiliency Workgroup Consultant
Supervised by: Regional Resiliency Workgroup with individual points of contact from Bladen, Columbus, and Robeson Counties.
Status: Part-Time, Contract (Through September 2023, with continuation of the position contingent on performance)
Workgroup/Organization Overview: Each county, in this regional effort, convenes a stakeholder workgroup which includes local agencies as well as agencies that provide regional support. Members of the workgroups include representation from the Department of Social Services, Smart Start Partnerships, United Way, PACEs Connection, local health care agencies including community health departments and mental health providers, childcare facilities, city and county school systems as well as local community colleges and nonprofit support agencies. The groups convene to discuss and plan ways to continue to bring about awareness surrounding trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and to develop strategies to become communities of resilience. The workgroups meet monthly in each county.
Position Scope: This position works with the Regional Resiliency Workgroup to support the work of the tri-county group’s efforts to address trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences to build resiliency in the region. The role will provide facilitation and convening support for monthly Regional Resiliency Workgroup meetings, become a content expert on the tri-county Regional CPAP (Community Prevention Action Plan), relationship build across all three counties, aid in evaluation of the grant’s desired outcomes, along with other tasks to accomplish the mission of a more resilient Bladen, Columbus, and Robeson Counties. This position will be a hybrid model, with primarily remote work and occasional travel into community when COVID restrictions allow. Ability to access work from home equipment such as a laptop and internet must be available for the person in this position.
Job Duties:
- Facilitation and coordination of Regional Resiliency Workgroup meetings.
- Attend Local County ACEs meetings in Bladen, Columbus, and Robeson Counties. • Convening regional events within the community.
- Attend statewide or regional meetings regarding ACEs or Resiliency.
- Building authentic and strong relationships with community members, Regional Resiliency Workgroup members, and partners.
- Content expertise with Regional CPAP Plan and state/local action plans for Bladen, Columbus, and Robeson Counties.
- Participating with the technical assistance process provided by Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina.
- Aiding in Media Campaign for Bladen, Columbus, and Robeson Counties.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Other responsibilities, related to ACEs and Resiliency, as necessary.
- Ability to travel and work on site in the region, as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, human services, early education or administration, or related field.
- Experience with facilitation.
- Experience convening community stakeholders.
- Organized, independent worker, and self-starter.
• Understanding of data analysis and metrics.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience or understanding of ACEs and Resiliency.
- Knowledge of community issues in Bladen, Columbus, and Robeson Counties. • Experience and affinity for collaborative work.
