Our panel will discuss the following:
Tuesday, May 12, 2020, 3:00pm – 4:30pm – Facilitator: Severine Winter, Community Liaison BAART Programs|MedMark Treatment Centers, opioid medication assisted treatment.
- Wendie Skala will open our meeting with a mindful half minute and will provide us with a picture of where we stand in today’s disaster.
- Toni Dupont-Morales, steering committee member, will then take us in the past and provide understanding of how disasters create trauma (i.e. Hurricane Katrina) and what it will take to rebuild.
- Alejandra Labrado, Program Planner, First 5 Sacramento will share how some community members have responded to COVID19 in creative ways to keep families with young children engaged and active rather than isolated.
- Ramee Serwanga, Project Manager with Raising Quality Together, Early Learning Department – SCOE staff have created videos for families and providers on a variety of topics from activities for young children bierth-5 to mental health and academics for older youth.
- Lisa Guillot, Trauma Recovery Support/Trauma Specialist will teach us how to find the positive in major life events and how to find resilience in times of crisis.
