Possibly community grant - Better Health and Wellbeing at the Community Level

RWJ working with ideas42 is currently soliciting applications from communities who are tackling challenging problems in community health and well-being, and who are interested in learning how the field of behavioral science, which provides deeper insights into how people make decisions and take actions, can be used to develop better solutions to these problems. Interested communities will designate an organization or consortium of organizations to submit the application on their behalf.

FROM RWJ:

We all know that our personal behavioral health idiosyncrasies can affect ourselves and our families, but what about the health of our communities?

Health and well-being are greatly influenced by factors that lie both inside and outside the traditional health care system, like where we live, how and where we work, the safety of our surroundings, or having easy and affordable access to health care.

A growing body of evidence suggests that using insights from behavioral science can improve the policies, programs, and products that might improve community health. Behavioral design is a novel approach to an age-old problem.

As part of our efforts to build a national Culture of Health, I’m pleased to announce a request for problems (RFP), together with our partners ideas42, that aims to identify pressing problems related to community health and well-being that would benefit from the application of behavioral science, and take interventions the last mile.

Want to learn more? Visit ideas42.org/communityhealth, where you can read about this exciting new opportunity and register for an informational webinar scheduled for Wednesday, May 4th at 2 p.m. ET, where we will preview the RFP and answer questions.

Looks like multiple organizations can participate to address problems in their communities. Many possibilities, and so relevant to ACEs and the work that member organizations are doing.
