Daniel Cisneros, Administrator of the Sacramento Minority Youth Violence Prevention Collective at the Health Education Council presented a workshop at the 22nd Annual Multicultural Education Conference at Sacramento State. The presentation included a detailed presentation on the ACES Study, trauma and the impact on minority youth of color. There were over 40 participants in the training, with standing and sitting room only. The training also outlined other situations that are traumatic and provided practical tips for working with youth. The workshop featured information on the SMYVP Collective which is a partnership between the Health Education Council, Sac Co USD, Sacramento Police Department, Wellspace Health's SVIP Program, Sacramento County Probation and Sac County Health and Human Services. Imani Lucas of Health Education Council and Wendie Skala of Kaiser Permanente provided additional information regarding the collective as well as information about ACES Connection.
