Screening of "Resilience" with Dr. Nadine Burke Harris

In conjunction with Resilient Sacramento, the UC Davis Department of Family and Community Medicine presents a special screening of the acclaimed documentary Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope.

This film, directed by James Redford, explores the link between adverse childhood events (ACEs) and lifelong health.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Nadine Burke Harris, MD, MPH. CEO and Founder of the Center for Youth Wellness. Dr. Burke Harris is a noted expert on ACEs through her observation and treatment of children and youth from disadvantaged San Francisco neighborhoods.

The event will start with a reception at 5:30. The screening will begin at 6 pm, followed by a discussion at 7 pm with Dr. Burke Harris.

The discussion will be moderated by DeAngelo Mack, steering group member for Resilient Sacramento and the Program Coordinator for the Sacramento Violence Intervention Program.
