Creating common approaches to promote community and family healing through resiliency
Wednesday, October 31, 2018
9:30am – 12:30pm, Check-in at 9:00 am
Join online or in-person in Sacramento
This convening will guide participants in working toward developing a common understanding of the regional needs and issues. We will introduce the newly developed Strategies 2.0 the Building Community Resilience Toolkit Vol. 1. Based upon the framework for addressing Adverse Childhood and Community Experiences: The Building Community Resilience Model by Wendy Ellis and William Dietz (2017), the BCR toolkit series is designed to guide family and community strengthening organizations in the necessary balance between ideas grounded in research and data with the community’s own lived experience and perceptions of adversity and assets.
In addition to an overview of how to utilize the toolkit, participants will have the opportunity to work through the available tools in small group activities and a panel will be invited to discuss their experiences in working in the community to promote healing through resilience.

We encourage you to participate in partnership with someone from your organization. For example:

- A supervisor/manager with staff
- Members of community collaborative partner organizations
- Family strengthening community constituents e.g. parent/resident leaders
We recommend someone from your organization attend each of the 4 Learning Community convenings.
