WHAT THE WORKSHOP IS ABOUT

Research continues to highlight the impact of parental depression on the
developmental outcomes of young children. As Home Visitors and Family
Service Providers, we often encounter depression in mothers and fathers,
but may not feel competent and confident to address these concerns. In this
workshop, participants will learn about free resources to support their work
with families, including handouts for families, screening tools, videos and
referral options. Presentation will include evidence-based strategies and
tools for recognizing, screening and responding to parental depression with
the goal of improving family functioning and improving developmental
outcomes for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

OUR SPEAKER: Stephanie Gomez, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social
Worker with the Sacramento County Office of Education. She has advanced
training in Reflective Supervision, Early Childhood Mental Health and Early
Childhood Trauma. She has provided family support and home visiting for
the past 15 years. She has extensive training in the California Collaborative
on the Social Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CA CSEFEL)
Teaching Pyramid Model and is currently pursuing authorization as a
coaching apprentice.

CE’s offered for several professional disciplines. Register for CE’s onsite for
an additional fee. See next page for details.
