Mental health courts (MHCs) are a collaboration between the court, criminal justice agencies, the District Attorney and Public Defender, and mental/behavioral healthcare systems. The aim of MHCs generally is to reduce recidivism and increase the quality of life among participants. This study looked at the effectiveness of the Sacramento MHC in reducing recidivism rates among recent Sacramento MHC participants.
