A San Bernardino County organization that advocates for abused and neglected youths has made it easier for volunteers to make a positive difference in a child’s life.
At-risk youths in the child welfare system have a better life and future when they are given consistent mentoring and have advocates and a support systems. However, most of these children do not have the benefit of an adult who is focused on their needs and future.
C.A.S.A. programs around the country use court-appointed volunteers who get to know a child, learn about their challenges and are advocates for them in court. C.A.S.A. of San Bernardino County recruits, screens, and trains people to serve such roles and needs volunteers.
