San Diego Hunger Coalition: COVID-19 and Food Assistance

Senior Meals

You may also call the AIS Call Center at 1-800-339-4661 for further assistance. Please be patient as call volume may be high right now.

Seniors may also be able to work with an organization providing home delivered meals through the County of San Diego Aging and Independent Services Department. The County will be developing new home delivered meal options in the days to come.

The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank provides food distributions for low-income older adults throughout San Diego County. Eligible senior citizens receive a 35 pound box of staple foods plus a 2 pound block of government cheese. Food distributions occur once per month. More information is available at sandiegofoodbank.org.

The State of California has launched a temporary home delivery meal service called the Great Plates Delivered Program. This program will deliver three meals/day to qualifying older adults (60+). Meals are provided by local restaurants that have been impacted by COVID-19.
